Former 49ers coach Steve Mariucci to Terrell Owens: 'Wish you were here' at Hall of Fame
Terrell Owens’ former coach hopes the newly enshrined Pro Football Hall of Famer will someday enjoy a visit to Canton after choosing to skip it this year.
After the NFL Network aired a highlight package from Owens' career with the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys 40 minutes into the broadcast Saturday night, former Niners coach and current NFL Network analyst Steve Mariucci said he wished Owens were in Ohio. Owens chose to celebrate his enshrinement in a ceremony earlier Saturday at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.
“Congrats, I wish you were here,” Mariucci said on the broadcast. “I hope next year you’ll show up so these players can get to know you better.”
