Thanksgiving NFL games schedule: What to know for big holiday matchups

Thanksgiving is obviously about food and family, but football has become another beloved holiday tradition. And really, is there anything better than watching an NFL star gnaw on a turkey leg after a game?
The Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions are annual Thanksgiving hosts, and the Lions kick off the day against the Houston Texans at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS, followed by the Washington Redskins vs. Dallas at 4:30 p.m on Fox.
But the main attraction will be that night's prime-time matchup -- the Pittsburgh Steelers will host the Baltimore Ravens at 8:20 p.m. on NBC.
The Lions have been playing on Thanksgiving since 1934, with the only gap coming from 1939-1944. The Cowboys' Thanksgiving tradition started in 1966, skipping 1975 and 1977. The Steelers and Ravens battled on Thanksgiving in 2013, a 22-20 Ravens win that saw Steelers coach Mike Tomlin step onto the field and impede the path of Jacoby Jones on a return. He was fined $100,000.
