San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell left Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears with a knee injury.

Mitchell was injured in the first half against the Bears. The 49ers officially ruled him out for the remainder of the game. Mitchell finished with 41 yards on six carries before exiting with the injury.

Last season, Mitchell appeared in just 11 games. He set the franchise rookie record with 963 rushing yards. He also added five rushing touchdowns in 10 starts.

However, Mitchell has dealt with injuries in his short career. He missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury this year.

The 49ers turned to Jeff Wilson Jr. and undrafted rookie Jordan Mason to carry the load in his absence against the Bears. Wilson Jr. had nine carries for 22 yards and hauled in two receptions.

The Bears pulled out a 19-10 victory at home. The 49ers were outscored 12-0 in the fourth quarter as they dropped their first game of the 2022 season.
