Bills acquire Nyheim Hines in trade with Colts

The Buffalo Bills tapped into the 2022 NFL trade deadline market right at the final minute.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Bills have acquired running back Nyheim Hines from the Indianapolis Colts. In exchange, Buffalo sent a sixth-round pick and running back Zack Moss to Indianapolis.
The Bills have confirmed the exchange. Most of the information broke right before the 4 p.m. deadline on Tuesday.
Moss, 24, was a third-round pick of Buffalo in 2022. After a promising rookie year, he has gone on to be in and out of the lineup over the past two years. In 2022, the Bills did appear to want to give him another chance early, only for him to underwhelm once again. In five appearances this season, he's rushed 17 times for 91 yards.
Hines, 25, was a fourth-round pick of the Colts in 2018. So far in his career, he has featured mostly in every way except as a rusher.
Hines’ bread and butter on offense is his role as a pass catcher out of the backfield. In addition to his prowess as a receiver, Hines has experience as a punt returner.
In his five years, he has 235 receptions for 1,725 receiving yards. On the ground, Hines has 300 carries in the NFL and has averaged 4.0 yards per carry. On kickoffs, Hines averages 20.2 yards per attempt while on punts his average is at 11.8 yards.
