Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 2 game

Get ready for some grit when the Detroit Lions host the Seattle Seahawks in a matchup between NFC playoff hopefuls.

Seattle is attempting to bounce back from a head-scratching loss to the Los Angeles Rams at home, during which it crumbled in the second half and let a young team control every aspect of the game. The Seahawks are coming off a strong season, but things may be turning upside down if they fall to an 0-2 start.

Coming off a big upset of the defending Super Bowl champions on opening night, the momentum and hype in Detroit is reaching levels not seen in years, with Dan Campbell and company ready to show the home crowd this team is ready to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016. But first, it will look for its first 2-0 start since 2017.

Lorenzo Reyes: Lions 24, Seahawks 21

The Seattle offense looked disjointed, in particular the passing game, and struggled to stay on the field, converting just two third-down attempts Week 1. The Lions, meanwhile, had nice balance, though they were not as explosive as expected. My favorite play here is the under.

Tyler Dragon: Lions 25, Seahawks 20

The Lions haven’t started 2-0 since 2017. But Detroit is going to ride the momentum from last week’s huge win into Week 2. The atmosphere in Motown is going to be rockin’ in this one. There’s some real optimism surrounding this year’s Lions.

Victoria Hernandez: Lions 27, Seahawks 20

The Seahawks are hurting after a slew of injuries during their season opener. Meanwhile, Dan Campbell and company are riding high off their upset of the defending Super Bowl champs. The Lions shouldn't have a problem holding their ground at home and covering the spread.

Jordan Mendoza: Lions 33, Seahawks 23

The Lions haven't beaten the Seahawks since Russell Wilson's first year in the NFL (2012). Ford Field will be rocking for a team with belief it can be great this year, and Detroit's offense explodes cruises toward a victory while breaking its five-game losing streak to Seattle.
