The Washington Commanders (2-3) take on the Atlanta Falcons (3-2) Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Sam Howell and company are coming off a 40-20 bruising by the Chicago Bears, who earned their first win of the season. The quarterback went 37-of-51 for 388 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He was sacked five times.

The Falcons escaped the Houston Texans with a 21-19 win powered by two fourth-quarter field goals from Younghoe Koo. Desmond Ridder rebounded from a lowly Week 4 performance in London and threw a touchdown. Wide receiver Drake London also made a splash in the last period by throwing a 22-yard pass.

The Commanders have won the previous two matchups against Atlanta, including last season's 19-13 win where Brian Robinson Jr. had 105 rushing yards.

NFL Week 6 odds, predictions and picks

Chiefs vs. Broncos | Titans vs. Ravens | Falcons vs. Commanders | Bears vs. Vikings | Bengals vs. Seahawks | Browns vs. 49ers | Texans vs. Saints | Jaguars vs. Colts | Dolphins vs. Panthers | Raiders vs. Patriots | Buccaneers vs. Lions | Rams vs. Cardinals | Jets vs. Eagles | Bills vs. Giants | Chargers vs. Cowboys

Tyler Dragon: Falcons 21, Commanders 20

Below average quarterback play hampers both these teams. But the Falcons have a top-10 defense, run the football more efficiently than the Commanders and Atlanta is 3-1 at home.

Victoria Hernandez: Falcons 23, Commanders 20

As the season's progressed, we've seen how inconsistent the Commanders are and that the two teams they beat to start the season aren't very good. The Falcons are at home and are continuing to scrap wins together. It might take a last-minute field goal, but Younghoe Koo is among the most reliable in the league.

Safid Deen: Falcons 24, Commanders 20

The Commanders’ last three losses against the Eagles and Bills (two of the NFL’s best teams) and the Bears (one of the worst) feel like anomalies. While Washington should be good enough to compete with Atlanta, Bijan Robinson is a star and has helped the Falcons play well at home early this season. I’ll take Atlanta in this one.
