New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 8 game

The Miami Dolphins (5-2) and New England Patriots (2-5) will play their second matchup of the season on Sunday in an AFC East battle.

The stunner of Week 7 came out of New England after the Patriots were able to pull off a last minute victory from the heavily favored Buffalo Bills. The offense looked alive for the first time in weeks, while the defense was able to contain the Bills offense for the majority of the game to give coach Bill Belichick his 300th win.

In the battle of heavyweights, Miami was unable to go into Philadelphia and knock off the Eagles. The high-powered offense wasn't able to be as explosive as they've been in the first half of the season, but they'll look to get back on track against a team they've already beaten this season.

Lorenzo Reyes: Dolphins 27, Patriots 22

I expect Miami to work out some of its frustrations in this game, but that’s a big line against a Patriots team that has been solid on defense. The Patriots showed against the Bills that they still have plenty of grit, but an upset here — especially given the recent track record of success for Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins against New England — is a tall ask.

Tyler Dragon: Dolphins 28, Patriots 17

The speedy Dolphins were slowed down by the Eagles in Week 7. Physical teams give Miami problems. But the Patriots don’t have the personnel nor the talent on offense to keep up with a Dolphins team that has the NFL’s top scoring offense.

Safid Deen: Dolphins 34, Patriots 23

Bill Belichick got his 300th win last week, but he’ll have to wait on No. 301. The Dolphins respond after their loss to the Eagles last week, with Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill having another field day over cornerback JC Jackson, who they exposed in Week 1 when he was with the Chargers.

Victoria Hernandez: Dolphins 28, Patriots 20

The Dolphins won the first matchup this year against the Patriots in Foxborough and I don’t see any reason that they would drop the home game. If anything, Tua Tagovailoa will have extra motivation to bounce back after losing in primetime to Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.

Jordan Mendoza: Dolphins 34, Patriots 16

Can lightning strike twice? It be a tall task for New England to take down another divisional power, considering the Dolphins already beat them in Week 2. Miami's offense gets back on track in another easy home win. The spread may be wide, but Miami has a good chance to cover, as they've scored at least 30 points in each home game and have won by at least two scores at Hard Rock Stadium.
