Raiders vs. Colts preview: Predictions, odds, how to watch Sunday's game

After benching starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, everyone thought the Las Vegas Raiders were going to roll over, give up, and let the Kansas City Chiefs run away with the AFC West once again.

That hasn't been the case. With two games left in the regular season, the Raiders are somehow still alive in the AFC West. It's unlikely they'll win the division, but there is hope that they can still reach the playoffs.

One of the teams ahead of them in the standings is the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts currently sit in a three-way tie for first in the AFC South heading into Week 17. Both teams are in must-win territory, but which backup quarterback will be able to carry their team to victory? Gardner Minshew? Or Aidan O'Connell?

Predictions for Raiders vs. Colts:

Sportsbook Wire: Under 44

The over has hit in only four Raiders games all year. While the Colts have hit the over in ten games, the Raiders were just able to hold Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs to 14 points. While the Colts run a very different offense than the Chiefs, it's hard to bet against the Raiders' defense having scored two defensive touchdowns in back-to-back weeks.

Athlon: Indianapolis 23, Las Vegas 21

This game is too close to call, but Athlon also likes the under in this one as well, but it will be close. In Indianapolis home games this year, games have averaged 43.4 points per game. In Raiders' away games, the teams have combined for 43.9 points per game. Both of those figures are under 44. That said, it's still very close.

Fox Sports: Colts (-3)

Chris Fallica writes, "I would take the Colts here. Their playoff chase is still on, laying the short number here at home. I would expect the Colts to come out and have a good bit of success against a Raiders team that probably might be a tad overvalued, at least in the public's eyes."

BetMGM: Colts ML

BetMGM predicts, " the Colts will win this Week 17 game with 57.8% confidence." However, BetMGM also believes it's more likely the Raiders cover the spread, giving Vegas a 61 percent chance to cover.
