Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 3 game

(This story was updated to add new information.)

The New Orleans Saints have looked unbeatable through two weeks. Of course, one of those wins came against the Carolina Panthers, but the Saints' Week 2 victory over the Dallas Cowboys was no small feat. Quarterback Derek Carr and halfback Alvin Kamara look dangerous to start the season, and even without star receiver Chris Olave getting very involved, this offense has been able to put up over 80 points in just two weeks.

The Philadelphia Eagles could be the Saints' toughest test yet though. The Eagles' addition of Saquon Barkley has paid off massive dividends early on, and while the run defense is certainly a little suspect, the Eagles have the offensive firepower to control the clock and stay in the game until late.

Lorenzo Reyes: Eagles 25, Saints 21

I suspect Philadelphia will still be smarting from its mismanagement late in Monday night’s loss and will be looking to bounce back here. The Saints have been explosive and Klint Kubiak has Derek Carr and this offense producing at will, but I suspect that a course correction is coming. Not having A.J. Brown certainly is an issue, but I’m counting on the Eagles learning from Monday. Giving the Eagles a field goal here feels like it’s way too much.

Tyler Dragon: Eagles 27, Saints 24

The Eagles made head-scratching decisions on their way to squandering away last week’s game. The Saints offense is clicking on all cylinders right now. New Orleans has the top scoring offense in the NFL entering Week 3. But this could be a get-right game for an Eagles team that’s motivated from a Week 2 collapse.

Richard Morin: Saints 35, Eagles 29

The New Orleans offense is off to a historic start to the season. Under the roof at home, I would expect that to continue, even against a talented Philadelphia squad.

Jordan Mendoza: Saints 27, Eagles 22

So far, no one has an answer for the Saints offense. The Eagles defense looked awful in the final minutes against Atlanta and they aren’t able to stop Derek Carr from inserting himself as a possible MVP candidate.
