NFL games on a Wednesday? The league is trying to make Christmas 2024 the best ever for NFL fans.

In reality, the NFL's move was, as always, about making money. The league is trying to take a page out of its Thanksgiving playbook and organize some holiday matchups to draw increased viewership for its end-of-season games.

The result is a Week 17 schedule that features NFL games on five of the seven days, giving fans plenty of opportunities to watch the league's various playoff and draft order races unfold.

The increased action will draw the attention of sports bettors eager to have some fun on the holiday. With four AFC playoff teams – the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans – set to be in action across the two games, the contests figure to be hard-fought, close and competitive.
