The Kansas City Chiefs are trying to do something no team in NFL history has done: win three consecutive Super Bowls.

Their odds of accomplishing that goal seem to be improving each week.

The Chiefs enter Christmas Day with a record of 14-1. They have already clinched a ninth consecutive AFC West title and need to win just one of their last two games to clinch the conference's No. 1 seed and a first-round bye.

It hasn't necessarily been an easy path to contention for the Chiefs. They have needed to pull out numerous improbable wins in one-score games, the most notable of which occurred in Week 10. In that contest, Kansas City blocked a last-second Wil Lutz field goal to beat the Denver Broncos and stay an undefeated 9-0.

More recently, Kansas City has dealt with an injury to its starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He suffered a high-ankle sprain in the team's Week 15 win over the Cleveland Browns but managed to play through the "mild" malady in the team's 27-19 win over the Houston Texans.

Nonetheless, the Chiefs' luck, skill and elite-level coaching has them positioned among the Super Bowl favorites once again. Here's a look at their odds to take home another Lombardi Trophy and how they compare to those of other playoff contenders.

Chiefs Super Bowl odds

The Chiefs currently have +450 odds to win Super Bowl 59, according to BetMGM Sportsbook. That implied probability means that they have an 18.18% chance to win it all for the third time in four years.

Kansas City is among the teams with the shortest odds listed to win the Super Bowl at BetMGM. It's all thanks to the Chiefs' high probability of earning the AFC's No. 1 seed. So long as they can stave off competition from the Buffalo Bills, the path to Super Bowl 59 should run through Arrowhead Stadium, where Kansas City enjoys one of the NFL's best home-field advantages.

Super Bowl 59 odds

The Chiefs currently are tied with the Bills for the second-shortest odds to win Super Bowl 59. Here's a look at how those odds stack up against the competition.
