What NFL games are on today? Week 17 schedule, TV channels, Sunday start times

Week 17 of the NFL season featured games on Christmas, "Thursday Night Football," and three games on Saturday.
That means a reduced slate of games for Sunday but there are still multiple key matchups across the league. Five of the nine games are divisional contests and headlined by an NFC North battle between the Minnesota Vikings (13-2) and Green Bay Packers (11-4).
The day wraps up with a primetime matchup between rookie quarterbacks with the Falcons' Michael Penix Jr. taking on the Commanders' Jayden Daniels.

Storylines for today's NFL games
- The NFC North has been the best division in football this season. This week, the 11-4 Packers take on the 13-2 Vikings. Minnesota is still in contention for the division title but needs a home win against Green Bay to stay in the hunt ahead of a Week 18 showdown with Detroit.
- Atlanta holds essentially a one-game lead over Tampa Bay despite both teams sitting at 8-7 entering Week 17 in the NFC South race thanks to two head-to-head wins. Rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is in prime time for the first time in the NFL against fellow rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Both teams need a win for their playoff hopes but Atlanta even more so.
- Speaking of Tampa Bay, they're at home against Carolina, a team that pushed them to overtime in Week 13. The Buccaneers can't afford a loss after dropping a game to the Cowboys in prime time in Week 16. Carolina's locked into a top-10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and can play spoiler on the road to the Buccaneers' playoff hopes.
- Jacksonville and Tennessee are both 3-12 and currently in the top five of the 2025 NFL Draft order. Whichever team wins on Sunday could drop down a few spots in the order while the loser should move closer to the No. 1 spot.
- Dallas has won four of its last five games but will be without star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb against Philadelphia. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts hasn't practiced much this week due to injuries, including a concussion. This could be an unexpectedly close game.
Who is playing Sunday Night Football?
The Atlanta Falcons are on the road against the Washington Commanders in a contest between two NFC teams currently in playoff position.
