After a close first half, the Buffalo Bills are pulling away against the Denver Broncos in the opening game of Sunday's NFL playoff triple header. The No. 2 seed Bills have built a 28-7 lead over the No. 7 seed Broncos early on in the fourth quarter.

Midway through the third quarter, the CBS broadcast cut to video of referee Bill Vinovich speaking with Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

It's not clear what either Vinovich or Allen said but commentators Jim Nantz (play-by-play) and Tony Romo (color) figured it was likely regarding a potential defensive holding in the end zone on the previous drive.

"(Vinovich) trying to explain why there was a no-call in the back of the end zone," Nantz said.

That missed holding call led to the Bills settling for a field goal to take a 13-7 lead.

Vinovich has missed calls in the playoffs before, most notably not calling pass interference in the 2018 NFC championship game between the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints. The NFL Competition Committee also said after Super Bowl 53 that Vinovich's crew missed a pass interference call.
