NFL playoff power rankings: Where every postseason team ranks based on Super Bowl odds

Wild-card weekend is over, and the divisional round lies ahead in the 2025 NFL playoffs with just four teams in each conference remaining.
In spite of three outright upsets in the wild-card round – shouts out to the Houston Texans, Los Angeles Rams and Washington Commanders – the top five in Super Bowl odds remain unchanged, though the order is different. Those three underdogs remain the longest shots to win Super Bowl LIX of the eight teams left.
The Kansas City Chiefs enjoyed their first-round bye and will face the Texans in the divisional round. Kansas City trails only the Detroit Lions in Super Bowl odds. Meanwhile, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are set to meet in a highly anticipated playoff showdown between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
In the NFC, the Lions and Philadelphia Eagles appear to be on a collision course in the NFC championship game as heavy favorites heading into the weekend.
BetMGM Sportsbook has odds for each game and each team's odds to win the Super Bowl. Here's how they all stack up:
NFL playoff power rankings: Super Bowl odds
Here's how all eight NFL playoff teams rank by BetMGM's Super Bowl odds:
8. Houston Texans (+5000)
(Last week: T-14th, +10000)
Houston managed to upset the Chargers at home in the wild card but remains last among the remaining teams in the rankings. They set themselves up for a date with the Chiefs on the road. C.J. Stroud has struggled in his second season despite the emergence of Nico Collins. With season-ending injuries to Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell, the offense struggled down the stretch. The Texans defense will need to come up with game-changing plays from Will Anderson and others if they want to take down the two-time defending Super Bowl champs on the road.
7. Washington Commanders (+3000)
(Last week: T-ninth +3500)
The Commanders are playing with house money. Expectations were low entering the season with a rookie quarterback at the helm. However, Jayden Daniels shined in his playoff debut and has his team believing after managing a road upset in the wild card. However, a tall task awaits them with a date against the Super Bowl favorites on deck. A rookie QB has never led their team to a Super Bowl and if Washington somehow takes down Detroit, they would be on the road again in the NFC championship game.
6. Los Angeles Rams (+1800)
(Last week: T-ninth, +3500)
Like last year, the Rams were among the hottest teams entering the postseason. They ran into a buzzsaw Lions squad on the road in the wild card round last season, but this year, they had the luxury of a quasi-home game.
Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams is enough firepower to keep pace with any team but the Eagles present a difficult challenge this weekend; Philadelphia boasts a top-three defense in nearly every category.
5. Buffalo Bills (+600)
(Last week: T-third, +550)
The Bills continue to stampede their way through the AFC. Buffalo is arguably the most dangerous team in the NFL because of quarterback Josh Allen. What's most impressive is Allen’s ability to identify when the team needs him most to make a big play, whether on the ground or in the air. Buffalo's Superman has averaged the most offensive yards per game (327.6) and touchdowns per game (2.6) in the playoffs in NFL history, and the Bills' relentless attack in the wild card round led to a ridiculous 41:43 time of possession. Perhaps the Bills are trailing the Ravens in the rankings solely based on the Week 4 meeting during which Baltimore boat-raced them, 35-10.
4. Baltimore Ravens (+450)
(Last week: T-third, +600)
Lamar Jackson was the AP's first-team All-Pro quarterback for a second straight year and the third time in his career. He finished ahead of Allen and has Baltimore appearing unstoppable. Despite being on the road this week, the Ravens are favored over the Bills and ahead in the rankings. Jackson is the leading MVP candidate and his backfield mate Derrick Henry has made the Ravens offense the best dual-threat unit the league has ever seen. Baltimore’s defense has been spectacular in the second half of the season thanks to adjustments made by defensive coordinator Zach Orr. The Ravens rank first in EPA allowed since Week 11.
3. Philadelphia Eagles (+400)
(Last week: Fifth, +700)
Some are quick to forget that Philadelphia was in the Super Bowl two years ago and was a juggernaut last season before suffering injuries and collapsing the stretch. The Eagles have one of the NFL’s most talented rosters. It's no secret they boast a prolific offense but the defense paired with it ranked first in defensive DVOA, according to FTN. They had the fewest yards allowed per game (278.4) and were the No. 2 scoring defense (17.8 PPG) during the regular season. That defense was on display when they held the Packers to 10 points and forced four turnovers in the wild-card matchup. Philadelphia's offense can control the tempo of the game behind their outstanding offensive line and Saquon Barkley.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (+350)
(Last week: Second, +350)
The defending Super Bowl champions sit firmly in the second spot in the rankings. With Patrick Mahomes at the helm and the AFC bracket going through Arrowhead Stadium, the odds respect both aspects. Kansas City finished the regular season 15-2 and won its ninth consecutive AFC West crown. The defense remained formidable in 2024, and the offense regained some health down the stretch. Running back Isiah Pacheco and wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown will boost the unit that ranked 22nd in red zone efficiency during the season.
1. Detroit Lions (+280)
(Last week: First, +275)
The Lions steamrolled to the top of the Super Bowl rankings and only had one bump in the road, which came against the Bills in Week 15. The stage is now set for the divisional round, and Detroit has solidified itself as the top team in Super Bowl 59 odds.
The Lions set franchise records for wins (15) and points scored (564). They earned a second consecutive NFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The offense was the top-scoring unit during the regular season. Their 15 wins tied the Chiefs for the most in the NFL this year. Under the leadership of head coach Dan Campbell, they have overcome countless injuries on the defensive side of the ball. Coordinators Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn are each highly coveted in this coaching cycle. With the path to the Super Bowl for the NFC bracket going through the Motor City, the Lions are rightfully placed at the top of the playoff power rankings.
