Myles Garrett next team odds: Commanders, Eagles favored to land Browns DE

Myles Garrett has been with the Cleveland Browns since the team selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft. The 29-year-old is hoping that will change during the 2025 offseason.
Garrett requested a trade after eight seasons with the Browns. In a statement on Feb. 3, he cited a desire "to compete for and win a Super Bowl."
Garrett is an elite defensive player, often mentioned with T.J. Watt and Mich Parsons. What sets him apart is his ability to stop the run. Among the trio, Garrett is the only one with a win rate of 30% against the run while also finishing in the top three in pass rush win rate over the last three seasons.
The 2023 Defensive Player of the Year will draw tons of interest around the league if made available via trade. Where could he end up if he does get his wish? Here's what the latest odds say about Garrett's potential landing spots in 2025 and beyond.

Myles Garrett landing spots
How would Garrett fit with the five teams favored to land him? Here's a breakdown of his candidacy for each organization:
Washington Commanders (+350)
There is a long list of defensive superstars in NFL history who made a living sacking the opposing quarterback but few have been as dominant as Garrett since he joined the league. Garrett finished with 14 sacks the last two years and 16 back-to-back in the years prior. Washington is an up-and-coming team that could use a top-tier pass rusher to push them over the top after reaching the NFC championship.
Dan Quinn and Joe Whitt Jr. turned Washington's defense into a respectable unit, but the Commanders still need to add some explosivity on the edge. Pending free agent Dante Fowler Jr. (10.5 sacks) could sign elsewhere, leaving a massive hole at defensive end. The Commanders have the third-most cap space available with Jayden Daniels on a rookie contract.
Philadelphia Eagles (+500)
If Garrett wants to play for a Super Bowl contender, he'd be hard-pressed to find a better option than the defending champion Eagles. Philadelphia appeared in two of the last three Super Bowls and will need to bolster its pass rush during the offseason, as Josh Sweat, Milton Williams and Brandon Graham (16.5 combined sacks) all hit free agency.
The Eagles have just under $18.1 million in cap space, per OverTheCap.com, but general manager Howie Roseman has been a magician at building the roster. Roseman has made splash trades in the past including one for A.J. Brown during the 2022 NFL draft.
Cleveland Browns (+550)
Garrett might be willing to change course and stay with the team, but that doesn't seem likely. It isn't yet clear whether Cleveland will grant his wish to be traded. Browns general manager Andrew Berry told reporters at the Senior Bowl that Cleveland wasn't interested in trading the star pass rusher and wanted him to retire as a member of the Browns.
Buffalo Bills (+550)
Garrett's presence would give the Bills a formidable weapon to help get them get over the top. Buffalo won the AFC East for the fifth consecutive season in 2024 but once again failed to reach the summit. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs stood in the way in the postseason for the fourth time in Josh Allen's career.
Buffalo ranked 11th in defensive DVOA last year, but will need to boost the unit if they want to break through the AFC and reach the Super Bowl finally. Adding Garrett could be the difference if he is paired alongside DT Ed Oliver and DE Greg Rousseau. Buffalo could not currently absorb Garrett's remaining salary, but general manager Brandon Beane could find room by restructuring Allen's contract and potentially cutting Von Miller. The veteran edge rusher suffered a torn ACL in his first year with the Bills but bounced back this past season with six sacks. However, Miller will be 36 next season and unlikely to return unless he takes a massive pay cut.
Detroit Lions (+650)
Detroit was a top contender in the NFC the last two seasons and should have a strong interest in Garrett. The Lions have one of the league's best pass rushers in Aidan Hutchinson, but the team struggled to find a complement to him before he missed the rest of the season with a broken leg. Garrett and Hutchinson would combine to be one of the league's elite pass-rush duos.
According to Next Gen Stats, Garrett faced a double team on 29% of his pass rushes in 2023. Opposing offenses would be forced to give Garrett or Hutchinson one-on-one opportunities on passing downs. Detroit has the 10th-most cap space league-wide ($46.5 million) without too many stars set to hit free agency.
Kansas City Chiefs (+1000)
The Chiefs get an honorable mention here with 10-1 odds. If Garrett wants to play in a Super Bowl more than anything, the Chiefs could give him his best chance after they appeared in their fifth Super Bowl in the last six seasons.
