Winter is beginning to defrost, signaling that spring is near.

As temperatures creep up, so is the heat for the NFL offseason. It's combine week and with free agency just around the corner, it won't be long before the league's 32 teams find themselves on the clock.

As evaluators get a look at 329 prospects at the marquee pre-draft workout event, the focus will then shift to pro days as players make their case to be drafted. These can be make-or-break moments for many prospects.

There are more prospects than picks, meaning plenty of players will be left without a seat when the music stops.

Here's what to know about how many of those seats are available for the NFL draft in 2025.

How many picks are in the NFL draft 2025?

There is not a definitive number of picks for the 2025 NFL draft yet. While the order has been finalized, the NFL awards compensatory picks for a variety of reasons.

Those will likely be announced around March 10, with some years being a few days earlier or later than that. Following that announcement, the order for all seven rounds will be finalized.

The draft typically has around 250-260 picks every year, but the exact figure fluctuates with those additional picks being awarded.
