The New York Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers two years ago, and two years later, the Jets are tearing it down.

Rodgers' arrival in New Jersey was coupled with turning the Jets into something resembling the Green Bay Packers of the east. The "New York Packers" saw the arrival of Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator during the 2023 offseason in addition to various former Green Bay teammates of Rodgers.

Randall Cobb, Malik Taylor, Billy Turner and more joined the quarterback in the northern New Jersey swamps. The biggest signing, at the time, was Allen Lazard. Long before Davante Adams had his chance to head east, it was Lazard that had the chance to hitch his wagon to the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

Now it looks like Lazard might be following Rodgers out the door.

The Jets have given Lazard permission to seek a trade, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. However, he did note that the team hasn't ruled out keeping the receiver.

Regardless, it seems like Lazard will be finding a new home next season.

Allen Lazard landing spots

Here's a look at where Lazard might end up in 2025, with one noticeable theme:

New York Giants

The Giants have reported interest in Rodgers after their Matthew Stafford hopes came to an end. If Rodgers makes the trip across MetLife Stadium to join the home team locker room on the other side, Lazard makes sense as a player that could join as depth at receiver.

Tennessee Titans

Much like the Giants, the Titans figure to be in the Rodgers market and that automatically makes Lazard a potential fit. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is a free agent and Lazard could slot in there if the former Titans draft pick becomes too expensive.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders also find themselves in an interesting spot after losing the Stafford sweepstakes. Rodgers would represent a splash in a market known for putting on a show. With holes all over the roster, Lazard heading west could at least help bridge the gap until reinforcements arrive.

New England Patriots

A non-Rodgers destination, the Patriots enter free agency with the most cap space available and hardly anyone worth spending it on. Tee Higgins was franchise tagged and the receiver market is fairly thin this offseason. New England needs bodies for Drake Maye and Lazard at least comes with some amount of previous success.
