Tank Dell injury update: Texans' WR set to undergo second surgery after severe knee injury

Tank Dell is still on the long road to recovery.
About three months after suffering a severe knee injury against the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 21, Dell is preparing for another surgery.
Dell dislocated his knee and damaged his meniscus in addition to suffering a torn ACL, MCL and LCL after a collision in the end zone with teammate Jared Wayne in the Week 16 loss to the Chiefs.
It took about a month for the receiver to have his first procedure in what is proving to be a lengthy process. Now he is set to take the next step.
Here's the latest on Dell.
Tank Dell injury update
Dell is set to undergo another surgery on his knee Wednesday, according to KPRC's Aaron Wilson. This one is set to repair his torn ACL, restarting the clock on Dell's eventual return to play.
Head coach DeMeco Ryans spoke about Dell at the NFL combine, providing an update on the receiver.
"He's doing well in the process," Ryans said. "I just start with his mindset. Seeing Tank around the building in the past couple of weeks just seeing a shift in his mindset – seeing renewed energy. Seeing Tank being Tank, as everyone knows. With a smile, just excited about the recovery process. I'm excited about that part of it. That allows me to know that he's headed in the right direction."
Ryans said it is too soon to know when the receiver will return, adding the recovery process will dictate that.
While Ryans wouldn't commit to a timeline, the expectation has been that Dell will miss the 2025 season.
