Jaycee Horn enjoyed one of the most productive seasons of his career for the Carolina Panthers in 2024. The 25-year-old made 68 tackles, two sacks and logged an interception while playing in a career-high 15 games.

The Panthers rewarded Horn's best season by making him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history, the team announced Monday.

Horn was entering the last year of his rookie contract in 2025. The Panthers exercised his fifth-year option, worth $12.47 million, during the 2024 NFL offseason. Now, Horn will be tied to Carolina through the 2029 season.

Here's what to know about the 2021 first-round pick's new deal in Carolina:

Jaycee Horn contract details

Horn signed a four-year, $100 million contract extension ahead of 2025 NFL free agency. Below are the basics of the deal, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

  • Term: 4 years

Horn's new deal makes him the first defensive back in NFL history to earn $25 million or more in AAV. The previous record belonged to Jalen Ramsey, who makes $24.1 million in AAV on his current deal.
