2025 NFL draft QB prospects: Best landing spots for Ward, Sanders, Dart

The NFL’s most high-profile position will be under the spotlight during the 2025 NFL draft.
At least three quarterbacks are expected to be selected in the first round of this year’s draft.
Miami QB Cam Ward could be the No. 1 overall pick to the Tennessee Titans. Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart are two other quarterbacks slated to be selected in the first round. Is Sanders destined to be a top-five pick? Who should draft Dart?
Where will three quarterbacks be selected during April’s draft? Paste BN Sports explores the best landing spots for the highest-rated quarterbacks in the 2025 draft.
Miami QB Cam Ward
Best landing spot: Tennessee Titans
There is a plethora of roster needs for any team position at No. 1 overall. Quarterback is chief among them for Tennessee. The Titans finished 26th in total offense and 27th in points per game. Their 34 giveaways were tied for an NFL-high last season.
Will Levis, who started 12 games for Tennessee, had the lowest passing grade (54.6) in the NFL for any quarterback with at least 300 dropbacks, per Pro Football Focus. Levis’ 18 total turnovers were tied for an NFL-most last year.
Ward is the type of quarterback the rebuilding Titans can create around. He’s the first player in Miami history to win ACC Player of the Year after he produced a program single-season record for passing yards (4,313) and led college football in touchdowns (39).
“The tape says everything I believe and I’m honest to that,” Ward said at the NFL scouting combine. “What separates me from everybody is the way I approach it, the mindset that I have going onto the field each and every game.”
Ward confidently told Titans personnel he was solidifying his spot as the No. 1 pick at Miami’s pro day. Those who were in attendance believe he did just that. Tennessee hasn’t had a 4,000-yard passer in a single season since Hall of Fame QB Warren Moon did it in back-to-back seasons (1990-91). Ward has the arm talent and QB acumen to be the Titans’ next franchise quarterback.
Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders
Best landing spot: New York Giants
Pressure is mounting on Giants general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll to create a winner after a combined record of 9-25 the past two seasons.
The Giants added veteran quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason after the failed Daniel Jones experiment. But they don’t have a long-term answer at the position.
Sanders’ experience in the limelight -- whether it’s because of his Hall of Fame father, accolades at Jackson State or Colorado – make him uniquely prepared for the bright lights of New York. He would be comfortable being the future face of the franchise.
“If you’re not trying to change the franchise or the culture, don’t get me,” Sanders said at the combine. “History repeats itself over, over and over. And I’ve done it over, over and over. It should be no question why and NFL franchise should pick.”
Sanders set Colorado single-season records for passing yards, completions, attempts, touchdowns, completion percentage and quarterback rating in 2024. He’s an accurate passer and throws with good precision.
Sanders and standout wide receiver Malik Nabers are young building blocks the Giants can create around. The Giants haven’t averaged above 200 yards passing per game in a season since 2019.
Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart
Best landing spot: Pittsburgh Steelers
Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers appear to be headed toward a marriage despite Rodgers taking his time to commit.
Regardless of Rodgers’ decision, the Steelers need to invest in a young quarterback.
Dart finished his Ole Miss career with school records in multiple categories, including total yards (12,115), passing yards (10,617) and 300-yard passing games (15). He’s experienced and plays well within a system.
“I’m very confident in the player that I am. I feel like I can do whatever it takes for a team to win,” Dart said at the combine. “I feel like I’m somebody who is a culture and an organization changer by the way I go out there.”
Dart is a first-round talent but sometimes can be inconsistent and has lapses in his mechanics. It would bode well for Dart to sit at least one season and learn behind a veteran signal-caller, which would make Pittsburgh an ideal landing spot if Rodgers does sign with the club.
