Aaron Rodgers names price for 2025 NFL season: 'It ain't about the money'

The biggest moves in NFL free agency are well behind us. Teams across the league are mostly set and looking forward to next week's draft to round out their rosters ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
One big name player remains a free agent, though: quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The four-time MVP remains unsigned after parting ways with the New York Jets after the 2024 season. He went 5-12 as a starter with New York as the Jets missed out on the playoffs for a 14th consecutive year.
He's still weighing his options for this upcoming season but made it clear he's not looking for top-tier money in his latest appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" on ESPN.
"I told every single one of the teams I talked to, it ain't about the money," Rodgers said. "I'll play for [$10 million], I don't care. I never once said I need a multi-year deal, $30-40 million, that's absolute b-------. I'd play for 10 [million]."
Per OverTheCap figures, 22 quarterbacks are making more than $10 million per year on their current contracts. The only quarterbacks making $10 million or less are on rookie deals or are currently backups.
Twenty-seven of the 32 NFL franchises have at least $10 million in cap space for 2025, per OverTheCap. Rodgers has been heavily rumored to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have more than $31 million in space for this upcoming season. He's also reportedly been in talks with the New York Giants who have the least cap space in the league at $1.1 million.
"I'm open to anything and attached to nothing," Rodgers said. "Right now, my focus has been and will continue to be on my personal life and that's what I've told coaches, there's still conversations that are being had. So it's all been very honest lines of communication."
