2025 Chargers schedule: Los Angeles' opponents ahead of NFL's official release

Jim Harbaugh must be a fan of sequels.
The longtime football coach returned to the NFL ranks in 2024, taking on a role once again with one of the franchises in the Golden State.
There would be no storybook ending to Harbaugh's first season back on the NFL sidelines, as the Los Angeles Chargers were promptly knocked out of the playoffs in the wild-card round. The nature of the loss – a blowout in Houston – left somewhat of a sour taste after a surprising season.
Now Harbaugh and his troops will look to avenge that loss with an improved roster around quarterback Justin Herbert.
Whether it improved enough to give Los Angeles a deep playoff run is something that will play out over an 18-week stretch in the fall.
Here's a look at who the Chargers will play in 2025.
Chargers 2025 opponents
Here's the complete list of Chargers opponents for 2025:
Home
- Denver Broncos
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Houston Texans
- Indianapolis Colts
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Washington Commanders
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Minnesota Vikings
Road
- Denver Broncos
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Tennessee Titans
- Dallas Cowboys
- New York Giants
- Miami Dolphins
Like every season, the Chargers will face off against their division foes – the Broncos, Chiefs and Raiders – at home and on the road. This year, they'll also take on the AFC South and NFC East teams as part of the NFL's rotating schedule.
The Steelers, Vikings and Dolphins close out the slate of opponents for the Chargers in 2025. Those teams were determined by the Chargers' second-place finish in their division.
Thanks to the NFL's unbalanced schedule, it's the AFC's turn for an extra home game this season. The Chargers will get an extra home game, but that will come in Brazil. Los Angeles is the designated home team for the NFL's second annual game in São Paulo.
When is the 2025 NFL schedule release?
The 2025 NFL schedule release is slated in full on Wednesday, May 14.
It has essentially become the final marquee offseason event of the NFL calendar, representing the official turning of the page to next season.
All 32 teams will see their entire 18-week roadmap to the 2025 regular season revealed on schedule release day. Leaks will trickle out in the days leading up to it, but the fall calendar will begin to take shape after the official release.
This year's schedule release will be held one day earlier than last year's, which was on May 15. The NFL announced the full 2024 schedule at 8 p.m. ET that night, so fans can expect a similar release time for this year's schedule.
