2025 Dolphins schedule: Miami's opponents ahead of NFL's official release
Mike McDaniel led the Miami Dolphins to the NFL playoffs in each of his first two seasons in charge of the team. They couldn't quite make it back to the postseason last year.
The Dolphins posted an 8-9 record in 2024. They had an outside chance to make the postseason entering the season's final week, but a loss to the New York Jets guaranteed Miami would not earn the AFC's No. 7 seed.
Miami spent the 2025 NFL offseason focused on retooling. They had a key loss on the offensive line, as veteran left tackle Terron Armstead decided to retire, and the team may end up trading its top cornerback Jalen Ramsey ahead of the season.
Much of the Dolphins' ceiling will depend on whether quarterback Tua Tagovailoa can stay healthy. He has struggled with concussions throughout his NFL career and played just 11 games last season after suffering one in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills last season.

As always, the Dolphins will face their AFC East divisional opponents twice during the 2025 season. They will also play all the AFC North and NFC South teams as part of the NFL's rotating schedule.
Miami's final three opponents – the Chargers, Colts and Commanders – were determined based on the Dolphins' second-place finish in the AFC East last season.
When is the 2025 NFL schedule release?
The NFL is set to reveal its 2025 schedule in full on Wednesday, May 14.
The NFL has turned the schedule release into a marquee offseason event. On schedule release day, the league announces the 18-week slate of matchups for all 32 teams.
This year's schedule release will be held one day earlier than last year's, which was on May 15. The NFL announced the full 2024 schedule at 8 p.m. ET that night, so fans can expect a similar release time for this year's schedule.
