The NFL plans in advance.

Unlike your spontaneous friend who makes arrangements at a moment's notice, Roger Goodell isn't messing around. The commissioner's league isn't just penciling in dates for months from now. They are writing them in permanent marker – for the most part, anyway.

With the NFL draft in the rearview, the schedule release is the next big thing on the NFL offseason docket before training camps begin in July.

All 32 teams will soon learn of the road that lies ahead this season. The league will reveal the full 18-week regular season slate, with every team hoping their season extends well beyond that into February at the Super Bowl.

It's a long and winding road that promises many twists and turns, but an exciting one that shows just how close we're getting to the next kickoff that matters.

Soon enough, your fall calendar will begin to fill up. Here is when the NFL schedule is set to be released in 2025.

When does the NFL schedule come out?

The 2025 NFL schedule release is slated in full on Wednesday, May 14.

Leaks will likely trickle out in the days leading up to the official release, as the league likes to announce international games, especially during that time.

The 2025 regular season will feature an expanded international slate this year, with games taking place in Berlin, Dublin, Madrid, London and São Paulo.

Thanksgiving and Christmas each figure to feature a loaded trio of games, with plenty of prime-time action carrying the other schedules each week.

This year's schedule release will be held one day earlier than last year's, which was on May 15.

Everything will be fully revealed at 8 p.m. ET on May 14, with NFL Network and NFL+ airing live coverage of the unveiling.
