Colts schedule 2025: Indianapolis win-loss record predictions

The Indianapolis Colts finished 8-9 in Year 2 under head coach Shane Steichen in 2024. After competing for the AFC South title into the final week of the season a year prior, Indianapolis couldn't catch Houston for the division crown.
This season marks the third under Steichen and Year 3 for quarterback Anthony Richardson. The No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Richardson has struggled to stay healthy in his first two years in the league. He started 11 games last season and went 6-5, an improvement from his 2-2 record as a rookie in 2023.
Indianapolis made a key change to the coaching staff after 2024's 8-9 effort. Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is out with former Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo hired on to replace him.
The defense will look different in 2025 beyond just the coordinator change. Indianapolis brought in safety Cam Bynum and cornerbacks Charvarius Ward and Corey Ballentine to re-shape the secondary.
There will be changes on offense as well with former starting linemen Will Fries and Ryan Kelly both out via free agency. Indianapolis is relying on in-house replacements Matt Gonclaves and Tanor Bortolini to fill those spots at guard and center, respectively.
Indianapolis upgraded their tight end room by selecting Tyler Warren in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Colts split the rest of their draft capital pretty evenly on offense and defense with picks at edge rusher (JT Tuimoloau), cornerback (Justin Walley), tackle (Jalen Travis) and running back (DJ Giddens).
This will be a pivotal third year for Steichen and Richardson. Indianapolis has a decision looming about whether or not to pick up Richardson's fifth-year option. The franchise has a tough decision ahead about the most important position on the roster.
Given these high stakes, can Indianapolis take a step in 2025 and compete for the AFC South crown once again? Paste BN Sports predicts the Colts' record as the 2025 NFL schedule release nears.

Colts record prediction 2025
Record prediction: 7-10
Unfortunately for Indianapolis, the other three teams in the AFC South could improve in 2025. Jacksonville has a new coaching staff led by proven offensive play-caller Liam Coen. Tennessee's offense should take a step forward given upgrades at offensive line, wide receiver and quarterback. Houston has new offensive coordinator Nick Caley in the building to help that unit perform better in 2025.
We think a 3-3 division record is likely with a split against Jacksonville, two losses to Houston and two wins against Tennessee.
The Colts have a tough out-of-division schedule with games against NFC West and AFC West teams. Three teams in the AFC West made the playoffs last year and Las Vegas should be vastly improved with a proven head coach and quarterback. The NFC West could be tougher in 2025 as well.
Indianapolis rounds out its schedule with winnable home games against the Dolphins and Falcons and a road matchup against the Steelers.
Even with improvements from Richardson and the defense under Anarumo, the out-of-division slate of games is daunting. That leads the Colts to miss the playoffs again and regress in the win column despite improving on-field.
