Browns 2025 schedule: Games, dates, predictions for upcoming season
The Cleveland Browns tied for the NFL's worst record during the 2024 season. Will the team be able to make significant strides to improve upon that in 2025?
The Browns are facing a tough road back to contention. Cleveland is dealing with financial constraints created by the fully guaranteed $230 million contract it gave Deshaun Watson, who has failed to live up to the deal and may not even play during the 2025 season after tearing his Achilles twice.
That leaves Cleveland without a clear-cut starter. Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett will compete with rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders for the Browns starting job. Flacco is the early favorite to win it, but the pecking order could change often in Cleveland.
Elsewhere, the Browns added a lot of young talent during the 2025 NFL Draft. They raised eyebrows after passing on Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter with the No. 2 overall pick and trading down to the fifth selection. They ended up with Mason Graham and a plethora of Day 2 talents who should help accelerate Cleveland's latest rebuild.

Browns record prediction 2025
Record prediction: 5-12
The Browns may not have the worst record in the NFL this season, but it won't be easy for them to significantly improve upon their 3-14 record from the 2024 campaign.
That's largely thanks Watson's contract and injury situation. The 29-year-old isn't likely to play during the upcoming season after tearing his Achilles twice in less than three months. That has left the team with major questions at quarterback and without financial resources to provide answers. That why the Browns' four-man quarterback battle between veterans Flacco and Pickett and rookie draft picks Gabriel and Sanders is among the least inspiring quarterback situations in the NFL.
Without a proven quarterback, the Browns may find it hard to be consistently productive on offense. Perhaps rookie running back Quinshon Judkins can help the team take on a run-dominant approach; still, barring a breakout from one of the young quarterbacks, Cleveland's offensive ceiling may be limited.
The good news is Cleveland does still have some star power on defense. Myles Garrett remained with the team, so if the supporting playmakers around him can stay healthy, the Browns defense should be better than it was last season.
The bad news? The Browns are set to play the second-hardest schedule during the 2025 NFL season, per Sharp Football Analysis. They have only a handful of winnable-looking games on the schedule, with matchups against the Bears, Jets, Patriots, Raiders and Titans profiling as their easiest contests. That said, four of those games are on the road, so Cleveland is unlikely to be favored in many of those games.
Perhaps the Browns can steal a win or two against higher-end competition while playing well against the lower-end teams on their schedule. That said, it's more likely they will have another rocky season as they continue to deal with the fallout of Watson's albatross contract.
