Detroit Lions schedule: Games, dates, TV channels, predictions for 2025 season

Popularized in the 1940s and 50s, the doo-wop era of music gifted the world many gems that can still be heard to this day.
In 1961, The Tokens made their entry onto the list with their hit "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," a song with ties all the way back to 1939. It's a tune with lyrics that convey a message about safety when the lion is sleeping – not exactly something with ties to the modern NFL.
Yet the league probably does feel a little safer when the Detroit Lions are sleeping, especially after they were woken up in recent years. Dan Campbell's kneecap-biting bunch leaves opponents battered and bruised by the end of the game, but that's yet to translate to significant postseason success.
Their first Super Bowl appearance in franchise history remains elusive and promises to be an even greater challenge without their two coordinators, Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn, that left for promotions elsewhere.
It's now up to the arm of Jared Goff, the legs of Jahmyr Gibbs and the hands of Amon-Ra St. Brown to carry the offense, while all eyes fixate on Aidan Hutchinson's impact on the defense in his return from injury.
Detroit will hope their schedule extends well beyond the allotted 18 weeks, with a trip to the Super Bowl in February. Provided they don't sleep through the season, perhaps they can cash their token in for a trip to the big game.
Here's a look at the slate that awaits the Lions in 2025.

Lions record prediction 2025
Record prediction: 11-6
The Lions lived a charmed life in 2024, as they finished with a 15-2 record in the regular season and only had to venture outside for three games.
That won't be the case in 2025 when the schedule only gets more difficult and includes seven outdoor contests. The road slate is particularly unforgiving.
Between that and having to adjust to a pair of new coordinators, the Lions are facing some regression in 2025.
Even if things work out for the group, they still have to deal with what should be a good division. The Packers are healthier, the Vikings are always solid and the Bears are improved with old friend Ben Johnson now calling the shots.
With Goff's outdoor struggles and some cold weather cities on the docket, this is no easy road for Detroit.
Despite overcoming an endless list of injuries last season, replicating a 15-2 season isn't easy. Dan Campbell's group is primed for another playoff appearance, even if the final record isn't as glamorous.
