The San Francisco 49ers are looking for a bounce-back season in 2025.

An injury-riddled 2024 season saw players miss time with on- and off-field incidents. The campaign following a trip to the Super Bowl was below expectations as San Francisco sunk to the bottom of the NFC West standings.

The franchise made major changes in the offseason, most notably bringing back former defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and investing heavily in the defense via the draft. A couple of new starters on offense and injured players fully healed should see a better result on that side of the ball.

The 49ers have the easiest schedule in the league, per Sharp Football Analysis, but can they take advantage and contend again in the NFC? Here's what to know about their schedule for 2025.

49ers record prediction

Record prediction: 11-6

The 49ers have been in this circumstance before. After they made the Super Bowl in the 2019 season and lost to the Chiefs, they had a tough 2020 season full of injuries. In 2021, the team went 7-2 to close the season and made it to the NFC championship game.

It's very possible the 49ers could see a similar theme play out in 2025. Influx of talent on defense with a proven coordinator and better health on offense could see improvements on both sides of the ball.

Outside of the six divisional games, San Francisco faces all teams in the NFC South and AFC South. Those divisions produced two teams total with at least 10 wins: Houston and Tampa Bay.

Beyond those contests, the 49ers face the Bears at home and the Browns and Giants on the road. Chicago has a new regime in one of the toughest divisions in the league. Cleveland and New York both have major question marks at quarterback.

Even if San Francisco goes 3-3 in a competitive NFC West, the 49ers should see a big improvement in the win column.
