To Joey Bosa, injuries are like flies at a barbecue – annoying and inescapable.

And much like that fly, the injury bug has found Bosa in his new location. After leaving the Los Angeles Chargers this offseason, the five-time Pro Bowl edge rusher joined the Buffalo Bills.

These bumps and bruises have always been part of the story for Bosa, who hasn't played a full season since 2019. This time, it's a calf issue for the 2016 Defensive Rookie of the Year, who is tasked with replacing Von Miller in Buffalo.

Here's the latest on Bosa.

Joey Bosa injury update

Bosa is dealing with a calf injury, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

The coach pointed out that the new addition is likely to miss the rest of OTAs and minicamps. However, the belief is that he'll be ready for training camp.

"Joey Bosa will not participate today," McDermott said. "He pulled a calf, I believe it was late last week. Thursday, I believe. So he'll be out for, more than likely, the foreseeable springtime at least and then should be good to go by training camp."

McDermott said the injury is still in the exploratory phase since the injury just happened, adding that it'll be an opportunity for other players to step up.

"It is concerning," McDermott said, when asked about Bosa's injury history. "Durability, availability are key ties to our roster and so we basically look ahead in terms of what he's doing now, which is getting himself the treatment he needs and he's working hard at it. We get him back when we get him back, probably at this point training camp."

Bosa was working out with the team when the injury occurred.

He signed a one-year deal worth $12.6 million in March.
