Micah Parsons expected at Cowboys mandatory minicamp, Brian Schottenheimer says

Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys haven't yet agreed to a lucrative, long-term extension to keep the star edge rusher in Dallas beyond the 2025 NFL season.
New Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer doesn't anticipate that will impact Parsons' attendance at Dallas' mandatory minicamp, which opens on June 10.
"Micah and I talked a couple days ago," Schottenheimer told reporters at Cowboys OTAs Tuesday. "Again, he's doing a little bit of traveling, but [with] everything that he and I have talked about, I expect that he will be here [for mandatory minicamp]."
Parsons has made it clear he isn't holding out from the Cowboys even as he enters the final year of his contract, which is worth just over $24 million. He was in attendance when Dallas opened its voluntary offseason program in April, which Schottenheimer had acknowledged as the plan weeks prior at the NFL annual meeting.
"I feel very comfortable. Micah said he's going to be around. I think that he wants to be," Schottenheimer said, per ESPN's Todd Archer. "I think we're all very comfortable with that. And at the end of the day, he's a great player and we think he's just getting started, to be honest with you. I have no question in my mind that he'll be around."
That may not have been the case at OTAs, but it's important to note the early stages of Dallas' offseason workouts are voluntary. As such, there doesn't appear to be cause for concern about Parsons' relationship with the team.
Schottenheimer is hoping it will remain that way as the first-time coach looks to help Dallas bounce back following a disappointing 7-10 season.
"Micah and I have had great communication," Schottenheimer said. "Everything I've asked him to do – and vice versa – he's followed through on. So, I would expect to see him."
