How Steelers Super Bowl odds changed after Aaron Rodgers signing

After a months-long wait, we finally have clarity on the future of four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The 41-year-old passer told the Pittsburgh Steelers on June 5 that he will be signing with the team ahead of mandatory minicamp.
This has seemed all but certain for months after Rodgers and the New York Jets parted ways after a two-year stint together. Rodgers missed all but four snaps of the 2023 NFL season with a ruptured Achilles and returned in 2024 to lead a 5-12 campaign that saw head coach Robert Saleh fired mid-season.
The new regime in New York, with head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey, opted against retaining the 10-time Pro Bowler. The franchise designated him as a post-June 1 cut to ease the cap penalties for terminating his contract early.
Now that that deadline has passed, Rodgers can make his move official.
The Steelers went 10-7 last year with a combination of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields at quarterback and one of the better defenses in the league. Pittsburgh had a winning season for the fifth year in a row but lost in the wild-card round of the playoffs to AFC North foe Baltimore.
This move bolsters the depth chart at the most important position on the roster. Rodgers will likely be the starter over Mason Rudolph, rookie Will Howard and Skylar Thompson.
But how much did this move improve the Steelers' title chances? Here's what the sportsbooks think:
Steelers' Super Bowl odds after Rodgers signing
Rodgers making this move official didn't have an impact on the Steelers' title odds, likely because it's been a foregone conclusion for months.
DraftKings publicly noted that their odds didn't move once news of Rodgers' signing came down.
It's a similar story with BetMGM's latest NFL odds. The Steelers remain +4500 to win the Super Bowl, which is 17th league-wide ahead of the Arizona Cardinals (+5000) and behind the Denver Broncos (+4000).
