49ers' Bruce Miller arrested on spousal violence charge
The San Francisco 49ers are dealing with another player arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.
Fullback Bruce Miller was arrested by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office on Thursday on a charge of spousal violence, according to Comcast Bay Area, which reported that the case has been turned over to the district attorney's office. Prosecutors will then determine if formal charges will be filed.
Niners general manager Trent Baalke released a statement in which he said the team is aware of the matter.
"We were disappointed to learn of these reports and will do our due diligence in collecting all relevant information," Baalke said in the statement released to Paste BN Sports.
Former San Francisco defensive end Ray McDonald was arrested on a domestic violence charge last August, but prosecutors did not file charges because of a lack of evidence. McDonald was later accused of sexual assault in December and was immediately released.
Miller has played four years in San Francisco, and played in every game last year for the Niners, with a role on offense and on special teams.
