Devon Mostert, the wife of San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert, is opening up about a "scary" incident after the couple's two-year-old son was hospitalized with severe COVID-19 symptoms.

Mostert revealed on her Instagram Story Wednesday that she called 911 after her son, Gunnar, suffered from a "103.5 temperature," among other symptoms.

"If you think COVID is a joke, this is our sweet G man in an ambulance today," Mostert captioned a picture of her holding hands with her son during the ride. "He was lethargic, skin was gray, lips were purple… I'm crying even typing this."

Although she said her son is "thankfully back home," Mostert said they aren't out of the woods just yet. She said her "family is very much in the thick of it."

The hospitalization comes days after Raheem Mostert, who was placed on the 49ers' Injured Reserve List in September after undergoing season-ending surgery on his knee, was added to the team's reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday.

Raheem Mostert is one of six 49ers in COVID-19 protocols this week, joining cornerback Deommodore Lenoir, cornerback Ambry Thomas, cornerback Dontae Johnson, safety Jimmie Ward and cornerback K'Waun Williams.

Raheem Mostert shared his wife's post on his own Instagram account, adding, "I could say a lot, but I'm going to keep this short because my family gets 100% of my time right now. Take COVID seriously! It's not a joke!!"

Raheem and Devon Mostert, who married in 2017 after meeting at Purdue University, also share 1-year-old son Neeko. The couple is expecting another baby boy.
