Bears receiver Brandon Marshall needs hip surgery
Brandon Marshall is coming off his best NFL season. He probably won't extend it in the Pro Bowl.
A first-team all-pro for the first time after establishing career bests for catches (118), receiving yards (1,508) and TDs (11) in 2012, the Chicago Bears wideout needs arthroscopic hip surgery, per ESPNChicago.com's Michael Wright.
Marshall has had similar procedures on both hips in the past, though it's not clear which one is bothering him now. Regardless, it doesn't seem to be a serious issue, and he may yet opt to go to Hawaii.
Injured stars Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson and DeMarcus Ware have already dropped off the NFC roster for the Jan. 27 all-star game.
