Free agent quarterback Brian Hoyer signs 1-year deal with Bears

Free agent quarterback Brian Hoyer has agreed to a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears, the team announced.

Hoyer was released by the Houston Texans after they signed free-agent quarterback Brock Osweiler.

He had visited with the Jets and Broncos, but now is headed to Chicago where he will serve as the backup to Jay Cutler.
