Chicago Bears tight end Zach Miller posted a video of himself walking without crutches on social media Sunday, less than a week after he told reporters he had started bending his surgically repaired left knee.

Miller dislocated his left knee and tore the popliteal artery in that leg during an Oct. 29 game against the New Orleans Saints, an injury that has resulted in amputation for other football players. During his first trip to the Bears' practice facility since the injury, he told reporters that he has had eight surgeries on the knee and wasn't sure whether more would be required.

Miller arrived at the facility on crutches, with a bulky brace on his left knee. He told reporters he had only recently started to bend his knee again.

"It hurt," Miller said.

Miller is on injured reserve and will miss the remainder of the season. When asked on The Dan Patrick Show on Friday if it's his goal to return to the NFL, he said he would like to play football again but no final determination has been made.

"I haven't really told anybody yes or no, whether that's a definitive thing for me," Miller said on the show. "I haven't been told 'no.' I've actually been told 'yes' by a number of doctors. For me, it's, 'We'll cross that road when it comes time.'"
