Cincinnati Bengals sign veteran safety Kavon Frazier

The Cincinnati Bengals have added more depth to their defensive backfield.

Cincinnati signed veteran safety Kavon Frazier to a one-year deal, a source told The Enquirer.

The Bengals later announced the deal.

Frazier joins a safety group in Cincinnati that includes Jessie Bates, Vonn Bell, Ricardo Allen, Brandon Wilson and Trayvon Henderson.

The 6-foot, 220-pound safety is entering his sixth season in the NFL. He spent his first four seasons in Dallas with the Cowboys before joining the Dolphins last year.

The 2016 sixth-round pick has produced 73 tackles, one pass deflection, one forced fumble and one sack in 59 career games. He’s also seen plenty of action on special teams.

Frazier’s primarily served as a backup free safety and special teams contributor in Dallas and in Miami. He’ll most likely have the same role in Cincinnati.

The sixth-year safety is the second defensive player the Bengals have signed this week. Cincinnati signed linebacker Joe Bachie off waivers on Wednesday.
