Bengals kicker Evan McPherson finally got slimed for winning Nickelodeon MVP Award

Last season, Cincinnati Bengals kicker Evan McPherson was named the MVP of "NFL Slimetime" Week 21 by Nickelodeon, or NVP. He was given the honor for his game-winning field goal in overtime of the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs, which sent the Bengals to the Super Bowl. 

The NFL announced its broadcast partnership with Nickelodeon in 2020 and the channel's signature slime has been featured in many ways, including with superimposed slime cannons in the end zone. Sean Payton said he'd get slimed if the New Orleans Saints won their Wild Card playoff game, a promise he kept — Jordan XIs and all.

SLIME TIME: Nickelodeon to broadcast Christmas Day NFL game

McPherson wasn't slimed after winning his NVP award because it was announced via simulcast. But before the 2022 season officially kicked off, there was a mission to get the popular kicker slimed after all. 

Donning a mask, Bengals long-snapper Clark Harris, who is McPherson's best friend, went stealth mode and hit McPherson with the sliming while he was walking into practice. It was a trap, to say the least, though the funny moment featured the kicker thinking first and foremost about his shoes.
