Minkah Fitzpatrick might not miss Bengals-Steelers Week 11 rematch in Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh Steelers hope to face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday with star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick back in the lineup.
Fitzpatrick was a full participant during the Steelers' practice Thursday.
ESPN's Adam Schefter had reported Saturday that Fitzpatrick would miss multiple weeks - including Sunday's Week 11 game in Pittsburgh - after an appendectomy.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Tuesday that the team is hopeful Fitzpatrick can return against Cincinnati after sitting out the Steelers' win Sunday against New Orleans to improve to 3-6 this season.
Fitzpatrick had a pick-6 of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow on Cincinnati's first offensive series and was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after the Steelers' season-opening win in Cincinnati.
Fitzpatrick was not fined for either of his hits to the heads of defenseless players that drew unnecessary-roughness penalties in that game.
Fitzpatrick has three interceptions in seven games this season, and 16 in five NFL seasons.
Sunday's Bengals-Steelers game originally was scheduled to take place in primetime, but it was flexed out of Sunday Night Football in favor of the Chiefs-Chargers game.
