Bengals sign free agent tight end Noah Fant

The Cincinnati Bengals signed free agent tight end Noah Fant, the team announced.
"He gives you even more flexibility," Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said of Fant before practice July 31. "You've got a player that's really a plus player in both the run and the pass. At the point of attack blocking, back side of blocking. Protection, can help you. Also really explosive as a receiver. Great size, great explosiveness, really good hands. Tough to bring down. I think that that's another weapon, anytime we can have weapons like that. Erick All did that for us last year as well. And so we really feel good about where our tight-end room will be."
Fant, who's entering his seventh NFL season, was a first-round pick by the Denver Broncos in 2019 and spent the past three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
Fant completed a visit Thursday with the Bengals, and Jordan Schultz reported via Twitter/X that it was described as positive, with both sides planning to stay in touch.
Fant, released July 20 by Seattle, also visited the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins, per reports.
"At the end of the day, he knows what we have here," Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase said of Fant after Fant's visit.
Fant had 48 catches for 500 receiving yards with a touchdown in 14 games in 2024. He has 300 receptions for 3,305 receiving yards with 15 TDs over six NFL seasons.
Asked why the Seahawks released Fant, head coach Mike Macdonald said, "I'm not going to tell you exactly why. There's multiple reasons."
