FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Opposing NFL teams have been paranoid by the Patriots long before this most recent videotaping allegation with the Cincinnati Bengals. It was even seen this season.

In Week 4, Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott was seen getting into a verbal altercation with two Patriots staffers. The incident happened prior to the Patriots 16-10 win inside New Era Field and the timing was around when pregame warm-ups were ending.

One of the Patriots employees was one of Bill Belichick’s sons, Brian Belichick, who’s a coaching assistant. A video from WROC-TV, based in Rochester, N.Y., shows McDermott approaching the younger Belichick and another Patriots employee. The Bills coach appeared to shoo the two Patriots staffers off the field while Brian Belichick responded.

No one asked McDermott about this incident after the game, as many questions were focused on quarterback Josh Allen, who suffered a concussion. Was the coach mad because he thought the Patriots staffers were lingering too close to the Bills warmup? Was it something else that set McDermott off?

As it appears we might never know.

On Wednesday, with a conference call with the New England media, McDermott said he wasn’t going to comment or get into what happened back on Sept. 29.

“I’m not going to comment on that. That was last game,” McDermott said. “I don’t think it’s worth getting into.”
