Trevor Siemian to get his chance to show what he can do as Broncos starting QB

Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian gets his shot on Saturday night.

Coach Gary Kubiak told reporters after practice Thursday that Siemian will get the first-team snaps against the 49ers in the second preseason game for both teams.

Mark Sanchez started the Broncos’ first preseason game. The two have been splitting time with the first-team since training camp started.

“There’s still a lot of football,” John Elway, the Broncos’ executive vice president of football operations and general manager, told Paste BN Sports earlier this week. “Mark’s new in the system. Trevor doesn’t have experience and neither does Paxton (Lynch).

“I think the key thing is to be patient with it, stay objective, and that’s why I’m not trying to sit there and keep putting them in an order but wait through the third preseason game and see if somebody jumps out at you.”
