Former Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, 33, announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday.

"I'm Demaryius Thomas, and I've finally come to a decision to hang it up," Thomas said in a video on the team's official Twitter page. "I'm going to retire, and I'm going to retire a Denver Bronco."

Thomas entered the league as a first-round pick out of Georgia Tech with the Broncos in 2010. He went on to spend the first eight and a half seasons of his career in Denver before being traded to the Houston Texans in 2018.

Thomas also had brief stints with the New England Patriots and New York Jets in 2019, logging 11 games with New York.

"Equally as impressive as his many catches, big plays and touchdowns was the fact he didn’t miss a game for nearly seven years in a row," Broncos president of football operations John Elway said in a statement. "You could always count on D.T. He belongs among the greatest players in Broncos history for what he’s meant to this organization on the field and out in the community."

While with the Broncos, “DT” earned five Pro Bowl nods and won Super Bowl 50 following the 2015 season. After Denver’s season in 2013, Thomas set a then-Super Bowl record with 13 catches in Super Bowl XLVIII (though the Broncos lost that game to the Seattle Seahawks).

Thomas ranks second on Denver’s all-time list for receiving yards (9,055) and touchdowns (60), trailing only Rod Smith (11,389 yards; 68 TDs).
