Browns QB Cody Kessler leaves game for concussion evaluation

The Cleveland Browns' quarterback carousel keeps spinning.

Cody Kessler left Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after an unnecessary roughness penalty on a hit by linebacker Lawrence Timmons in the third quarter.

Kessler was replaced by Josh McCown in the game. He was ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

The rookie was forced into action for Cleveland this season when Robert Griffin III and McCown were sidelined by shoulder injuries. He suffered a concussion earlier in the season and went through the league's protocol before returning to action.

Kessler completed seven of 14 passes for 128 yards and an interception before leaving the game.
