Bettor lost a half a million dollars picking the Browns to cover against the Rams

The Cleveland Browns cost one gambler a half a million dollars.

According to The Action Network, one Atlantic City bettor picked the Browns to cover as 3.5-point home underdogs vs. the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at a William Hill book at the Ocean Casino Resort.

The Browns fell 20-13 to the defending NFC champion Rams and, as a result, the gambler lost a staggering $506,000. The Rams' win helped them cover as 4.5-point road favorites in the primetime showdown.

Action Network reports the half-million sum is the biggest of the 2019 season by a landslide. The Browns-Rams matchup was the most-bet-on game of the season, too.

"This game was a massive handle ... and almost everything we took live was on the Rams,"  Nick Bogdanovich, the director of trading at William Hill, told the Action Network.
