Browns center JC Tretter elected new president of NFL Players Association

Cleveland Browns center JC Tretter is the new president of the NFL Players Association.
The union announced Tuesday on Twitter its board of player representatives elected Tretter to the prominent position.
Tretter was among among four players who were nominated for president. The others were Russell Okung of the Carolina Panthers, Michael Thomas of the New York Giants and Sam Acho of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but Okung withdrew from consideration, according to multiple reports.
Last week, Tretter wrote and released a detailed breakdown of the proposed new collective bargaining agreement to inform fellow players as they vote on whether to accept it. He has not revealed how he plans to vote on the proposal. The deadline for voting is 11:59 p.m. Saturday.
Tretter graduated from Cornell University with a degree in industrial and labor relations.
