Houston Texans vs. Cleveland Browns kickoff delayed following severe weather

CLEVELAND – Kickoff for Sunday's game between the Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans has been delayed because of severe weather on the lakefront.

Rain, hail and wind pounded FirstEnergy Stadium during the national anthem.

Moments later, both teams returned to their locker rooms, and an announcement at the stadium urged fans to shelter in place. Lightning could also be seen after the delay announcement.

The Texans and Browns were set to retake the field at 1:25 p.m. ET for a 10-minute warm-up period to be followed by kickoff, the NFL announced.

The Browns enter Sunday's game at 5-3 while the Texans stand at 206.
