The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be without their franchise quarterback for at least two games.

Jameis Winston is being shut down by the team for a minimum of two weeks after an MRI revealed further damage to his shoulder, coach Dirk Koetter said Monday.

Winston will miss games against the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins.

Winston was pulled at halftime of Sunday's 30-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Ryan Fitzpatrick stepped in, and the veteran will now take over the starting role. Ryan Griffin will also join the active roster.

Winston has thrown for 1,920 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions for the 2-6 Buccaneers.
