Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans will miss Sunday's game against the New York Jets after his one-game suspension was upheld on appeal Tuesday, NFL vice president of football communications Michael Signora announced.

Evans was issued the ban after he hit New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore in the back during a confrontation instigated by Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston in Tampa Bay's 20-10 loss.

A Pro Bowl selection in 2016, Evans has 40 catches for 532 yards and four touchdowns this season.

Winston will also miss Sunday's game after the Buccaneers announced he would be shut down for at least two weeks with a shoulder ailment.
