Buccaneers' Mike Evans donates $11,000 to family of Florida shooting victim

The family of a Florida man awarded $4 by a jury after sheriff's deputies shot and killed him got an unexpected gift from NFL star Mike Evans over the weekend.
After seeing a story about the 2014 death of Gregory Hill Jr., the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver asked on Twitter if there was a way to donate to the family.
After learning there was a GoFundMe page set up for the family, Evans chipped in with a donation of $11,000.
As of Sunday afternoon, the campaign was over two-thirds of the way to its $150,000 goal.
The Pro Bowl receiver, who caught 71 passes for 1,001 yards and five touchdowns last season, signed an $82 million contract extension in March. At the press conference announcing the deal, Evans said he wanted to expand his new charitable foundation and do even more for people in need.
"I'm fortunate, like I said earlier, and grateful for this opportunity," Evans said. "I'm going to keep working. I never take it for granted. I just want to help a lot of people and have fun along the way."
